Red-i Productions Presents "V3 Conforming Stockings" Copyright 2003-2007 by Keith Young (a.k.a. Spanki) http://skinprops.com spanki@skinprops.com March 18, 2003 -------------- End User License: ========================================================== This package and all contents are Copyright by Keith Young. By using this package, you are agreeing to all the terms listed in the included "license.txt" file. Please read that file for details. Introduction: ========================================================== Thank you for purchasing my "v3 Conforming Stockings" package! These stockings are provided as high resolution meshes with .cr2 files to conform them to your Victoria 3 character. Also included are several textures and color selections that can be applied (via the included MAT pose files) to dress your character in Style. Files Needed ========================================================== To fully utilize this package you will need the following: - Poser4, Pro Pack or Poser 5 with the latest patch or Poser Pro Pack from Curious Labs ( http://www.curiouslabs.com ) - Victoria 3 from Daz3d ( http://www.daz3d.com ) - Macintosh users will need some form of conversion program, but all filenames and internal pathings should be Mac compatible. Package details: ========================================================== - .obj files for Left and Right stockings - .cr2 files for Left and Right stockings - 8 400x1000 (transparency) textures in .jpg format (can also be used for bumpmaps) - MAT pose files for swapping out the textures above, as well as 3 color choices. - Poser 4/Pro Pack/Poser 5 compatible .rsr files for all of the above Installation: ========================================================== The package is contained in one ~2mb zip file: v3_stkns_runtime.zip. You should copy this file to your X:\xxx\xxxx\Poser4 directory and extract it there (at the _same_ level as the Runtime directory). It will create new directories listed below within the Runtime directory. General folder detail: ========================================================== All new directories/folders are created inside the Runtime directory... Usage ----- 1. Load your v3-based character as normal 2. Under the 'Figure/Use Inverse Kenematics' menu, be sure to disable kenematics for both the left and right legs (you can still use these options, but be sure to check here first if you start seeing skin poke through (see below)). 3. Select and add each of the left and right stockings to the scene, conforming them to your character as you do ('Figure/Conform To...' menu) 4. Pose your character and continue as usual (note, you can conform the stockings after your character has been posed too, just be sure that your character is selected whenever you apply poses (this is nothing particular to do with these stockings, it's true with any conforming figures)). Changing Colors/Textures ------------------------ 1. Select any part of the right or left stocking. 2. apply one of the MAT pose files. 3. Select the other stocking and repeat (you'll need to apply changes to each one seperately). [NOTE: As a bonus and purely by accident (actually has more to do with the nature of the modeling method used), it turns out that these stockings are almost completely compatible with textures created for Billy-T's stockings for V2 as part of his Lingerie pack... the only difference being in the thigh-band area.] Bump Maps --------- You can use any of the textures provided as a bump map as well, but the included MAT files do not set any bump map (see below). If you are using Poser 4, the program will tell you that it needs to be converted to a .bum file... just say yes. The included MAT pose files are very simple text files, for example: { figure { material Stocking { transparencyMap ":Runtime:textures:Spanki:Clothing:Stkn_Lace1_Reinforced.jpg" 0 0 } } } ...the above is the entire contents of the "Tx Lace 1 Reinforced.pz2" file. If you want to change this MAT pose file to also apply a bump map, you would just need to add the 'bumpMap' tag as follows: { figure { material Stocking { bumpMap ":Runtime:textures:Spanki:Clothing:Stkn_Lace1_Reinforced.jpg" 0 0 transparencyMap ":Runtime:textures:Spanki:Clothing:Stkn_Lace1_Reinforced.jpg" 0 0 } } } ...for Pro Pack or Poser 5. If you are using Poser 4, then you would reference the .bum file instead (make sure that you've already created it first): { figure { material Stocking { bumpMap ":Runtime:textures:Spanki:Clothing:Stkn_Lace1_Reinforced.bum" 0 0 transparencyMap ":Runtime:textures:Spanki:Clothing:Stkn_Lace1_Reinforced.jpg" 0 0 } } } General Usage and Morphs ------------------------ Below is a list of included morphs and a description of what they do... Toe 'pTighten' - a partial-body morph to pull the fabric in closer to the toes (or further away with negative values). This might be used to help make shoes fit better. Foot 'pTighten' - a partial-body morph to pull the fabric in closer to the foot (or further away with negative values). This might be used to help make shoes fit better. Shin 'pKneeInFix' - a partial-body morph that bulges the inside of the knee out a bit. This can be used to help correct poke-through problems in extreme poses. Thigh 'pKneeInFix' - a partial-body morph that bulges the inside of the knee out a bit. This can be used to help correct poke-through problems in extreme poses. Buttocks 'pTighten' - a partial-body morph to pull the fabric in closer to the thigh (or further away with negative values). This can be used to snug the top of the stocking to the skin. 'pGarter Tug1' - a partial-body morph to create an upward pull on the top of the stocking where a garter might be attached (this one has positions similar to Billy-T's lingerie set for V2). 'pGarter Tug2' - a partial-body morph to create an upward pull on the top of the stocking where a garter might be attached (an alternate location of the rear area, more towads the center of the rear). Body The full-body morphs simply implement the similarly named partial-body morphs listed above - these were just moved to the 'Body' to make it easier to access them all from the same place... 'Garter Tug 1' 'Garter Tug 2' 'Tighten Top' 'Tighten Foot' 'Tighten Toe' In addition, there are two full-body morphs that operate more than one of the partial-body morphs at once... 'Tighten All' - this morph sets all of the 'pTighten' morphs listed above to 1.0 'Knee Bulge In' - this morph sets both of the 'pKneeInFix' morphs to 1.0 ...To keep from confusing matters, it is suggested that you only use the full-body morph dials on the 'Body'. These operate all of the other morphs, but 'Body' adjustments are not reflected in the partial-body morph dials (if you set both 'pTighten' on the thigh and 'Tighten Thigh' on the body to 1.0, it would be the same as setting 'Tighten Thigh' to 2.0 on the body. For a wide range of posing conditions, you'll find that the stockings fit quite well and behaive themselves ;). In some more extreme poses, you may find that the knee has bulged out or a toe/heel has poked through, etc. If this happens, you can try some of the above morphs (possibly using negative values on the tighten morphs), but here are a few other things to look out for: - Inverse Kenematics Enabled This should be one of the first things to check... if it is enabled, the character's leg may be limited slightly in it's movement within a particular pose, while the stocking isn't, so they are out of sync. If you're done posing, turn off Kenematics. - Twist and Side-to-Side values If the stocking just flies off the leg wildly, then it's probably due to large twist or side-to-side values on the character's butt/thigh/shin/etc parts. If this is the case, I'd suggest either enabling 'Use Limits' on the figure menu or, you can try adjusting the pose to remove some of the twist/side-to-side or transfer some of it to a different part (ie. if the buttocks has a twist value of 15, try setting it to 7 and putting 8 of it into the thigh). - If all else fails ...then it's time to start playing with magnets ;). Final Comments: ========================================================== Thanks again for your purchase. I am always interested in comments and product feedback. Enjoy, Keith Young a.k.a.
